A photographic tour of the Bluebell Railway - Kingscote to East Grinstead, including Hill Place Viaduct (sometimes called Imberhorne Viaduct)
3rd January 1998 to 31st December 2009

A group of images showing the line north of Kingscote. The collection includes a large number of pictures of Hill Place Viaduct and images from the north and south end of the tip. Hill Place Viaduct is often known (incorrectly) as Imberhorne Viaduct.

Pictures of the Bluebell Railway East Grinstead Station site are now in a separate collection.  Photos of East Grinstead (Network Rail) Station are also available.  East Grinstead (High Level) Station (Closed) is featured in a photographic tour of the Ashurst Junction to Three Bridges line (Available shortly).

Please note that the vast majority of these pictures were taken on private land with permission. Where necessary lookout protection was provided. I have authority from the Bluebell Railway to display this collection.

Moving the camera slightly to the right a rather impressive wall can be seen. It's position suggests that the boundary dates from the construction of the line. Just out of shot someone has cut a hole in the wall about the size of a small window, presumably to watch activity on the railway. 28.06.2009. Closer still to Imberhorne Lane Bridge, the line is briefly on an embankment as a farm track passes under the railway at Hazelden Farm. The parapets of the arch are in view in this shot, looking north. The embankment sides are steep and there is no access to the line at this bridge. 28.06.2009.
