Looking south at the southbound platform at Ham Street Station. In the foreground is the passenger crossing between platforms. The 1907 map shows that there were originally wagon turntables either side of the line here. These enabled wagons in the southbound siding to be turned at right angles and wheeled across the track in the same way as passengers currently cross here. On the right of the camera there were three up sidings, but two of these led directly off the wagon turntable into what is now the car park. The effect was similar to a locomotive roundhouse. This side of the line also had cattle pens. 08.08.2005

Looking north from the southbound platform at Ham Street Station, with the northbound platform in the background. The area of the old goods siding on the left is now covered by trees. The signal box stood at the end of this platform on the right. The small shelter is original. Canopy facilities at this station have never been generous. 08.08.2005
