A photographic tour of the Bluebell Railway - Kingscote to East Grinstead, including Hill Place Viaduct (sometimes called Imberhorne Viaduct)

At the limit of the long lens I had available, this view shows the original Network Rail buffer stop, with the track curved towards the viaduct (sidings originally crossed the viaduct). Beyond is the blue security gate at the northern end of the viaduct, and the parapet can just be seen through the fence. Note the gap in the conductor rail just before the track curves, and the temporary buffer at the end of the line. 18.10.2008. Previous | NextThe Bluebell station site at East Grinstead on 26.07.2009. All that can be seen is some pipes and piles of earth, but in reality much work has taken place to install water and electricity. A start has also been made on footings for the platform. The ground is mainly rock, making the task particularly difficult. This picture was taken from a public viewpoint and the site remains OUT OF BOUNDS.
